My Secret Short Film

July 21, 2012 § Leave a comment

The Melbourne Magic Festival was too short lived! By the time we settled in a nice performance rhythm it was all over. My written script was received very nicely by the audience. I had such a terrible fear that nobody would laugh. Enzo Ficco was a pleasure to work with and I look forward to working with him again. We already have a function booked and it looks like another public event too.

I will be working again with Tony Ferrieri in the next couple of weeks. Hopefully we are also able to start filming the next short film soon. I will be performing next to one of my most respected actors in this particular film.

Peter Coulson and I shot together a while back in my house. I’ve put up some of the photographs.  Our next project will be another location shoot. It’s nice to get out of the studio for a while.

With my next show, “Al Cappuccino” growing near I’m already planning my next project. It will be a motion picture.

Performing at Gala

July 3, 2012 § 2 Comments

Last night was the Gala show for the Melbourne Magic Festival. Enzo Ficco and I performed a section of our performance, “A Magical Journey Back In Time” which was received delightfully well! It was so interesting meeting other magicians and seeing their acts. My friend Anthony Demasi was performing there too. He is now a renowned Melbourne magician. He was actually the one who suggested me to Enzo to be involved in his, “Al Cappuccino” act.

I’m honestly very nervous because I’ve scripted a lot of it and I’m not terribly sure about how my writing will be received. I guess I shouldn’t be too worried as Enzo’s magic is that good I’m certain it can save me from whatever blunder I may make.

Lost Between the Cracks

The world is showing age,
The world has lost its value,
When a million was a million,
When a poet was a rock star,
When a painter was a worker,
It may never come again.

A Toothless Faith

The Christian man

There was a christian who could not read,
he bought his friends quite literally,
he was a lonely man with missing teeth,
he walked the streets in search to preach his stories of his well spent friends,
“If you give a simple five or ten they ask for me to read again”,
the old preacher’s eyes looked sad and sore,
his pale blue eyes just empty voids,
his palms grew sweaty,
his existence petty,
this man destined to die alone,
he would spend the rest of his life to drone,
in search of something he does not know.

I met this man as I waited for a train a few years ago. Shortly after meeting him I wrote this.

Thailand

I have been in Thailand for the past week. I’m itching to do some painting and have been doing a few sketches over my trip. I’ve also managed to read three books and gave up on my forth as it was terrible thirty pages in and didn’t seem to have much hope in getting better. The first book I read was “The Beach” and that is a must read. The second was Michael Caine’s, “The Elephant to Hollywood” which is also a must. It’s interesting to see Hollywood and the possible world of acting through his era and words. Judging from his book he seem to have very good humor. Some of his writing is hilarious! The third read was, “The Alchemist” which is an easy enlightening read. I also highly recommend it.

Art Exhibition

April 9, 2011 § Leave a comment

This week I have mostly been focusing on my artwork. I have two series of paintings I am working on. The first is a Roy Lichtenstein comic inspired, with a fem fetal twist and the second is a Cheetah and nature series.  I want to paint enough paintings to be able to create an exhibition.

Peter Coulson also called me earlier in the week to let me know I am modeling a Helmuc Newton inspired photo shoot. Apparently it’s going to be used for a furniture advert. Maybe I will be on your next IKEA couch catalogue?
