Lost Between the Cracks

January 11, 2012 § Leave a comment

The world is showing age,
The world has lost its value,
When a million was a million,
When a poet was a rock star,
When a painter was a worker,
It may never come again.

Raven Clothing Design

December 28, 2011 § 2 Comments

I am currently staying in Sweden! I’ve been having a wonderful time visiting relatives and completing another art piece. I’ve been offered a place in February 2012 to display some of my art pieces.

Before I left, Peter Coulson organized a photo shoot for me. I modeled Erin Macneill’s clothing, “Raven”. I loved the gowns I got to wear and look forward to seeing more from her.

Art House

Peter has let me bring my paints into his studio. It’s simply wonderful because while I paint I am able to see all sorts of photo shoots happening at the same time. Last week I even saw something being filmed.

On Saturday night I helped Peter write an interview for an article about him which will be published in the first issue of a new German fashion magazine. He will be featured next to Valentino  Afterward he showed me that some of our photographs have been displayed on Trend Hunter.

Below is a photograph of one of the lovely hats I wore to the races next to it’s maker, Richard Nylon and a wonderful example of Valentino’s Work.

Peter Rowland

The Melbourne Cup Races have started and I have actually started work for Peter Rowland Catering as a Host in his marquee tent. I’ve met a lot of very interesting people and made a few new lovely contacts.

I have been dressed by Australia’s top hat designer Richard Nylon who is nothing but an angel. I hope to be working with him more in the future. I will put up a few images of his gorgeous hat designs sometime.

The photographs below are from the last shoot Peter Coulson and I worked on. This I think was one of my favorite photo shoots. I had nothing less then fun that day!

Silk Sheets

I have once again been displayed in www.fashionising.com, with a few of my older photographs. Peter Coulson and I worked together a week ago now and took a few lovely images. We worked with white shirts and silk sheets. I’m hoping to get a few location photographs done soon too.

I’m sure a few more from this photo shoot will be brought into the open soon. They were a lot of fun.

Photoshoot with Giusep Cosentino and Beau Parkman

Beau and I shot with Giusep as a fairwell to the patch of hair on his head. I thought this was appropriate as I couldn’t wait to cut it off! I will be organizing another photoshoot with Guisep tomorrow so hopefully some more of his work will be posted soon.

Photographer: Guisep Cosentino

On the 30th of September I will be performing a little burlesque at the El Monstro Del Mar, (Directed by Stuart Simpson) DVD launch party at the Bendigo Hotel (125 Johnston st, Collingwood). It is $15 entry for anybody who is interested. It should be a lot of fun!

Andy Warhol, Photo Shoot

August 8, 2011 § 2 Comments

Peter Coulson shot me in an Andy Warhol inspired photo shoot. My Makeup was done by the incredible Jacqueline Kalab. I found out it has reached the interest of a big online magazine that I will hear more details about soon enough. I had a ball during this set. I was able to paint myself bit by bit in face paint…. until I found the buckets of paint that Jacqueline and Peter had used to paint the wall! Peter was shocked to find a rainbow Nicole standing on set after getting back from his bathroom break.

Director’s Cut, Runway

I received two tickets today in the mail to see the exclusive screening of “Runway” (directed by Tony Ferrieri). It was another short film I worked in. I loved working with Tony and the rest of the crew. Tony has a very vivid imagination and it defiantly shows in his work. He is one of those connections that developed into a working friendship. There is nothing that this man wouldn’t do for his artwork. We discussed working with each other again after the screening of Runway and I am so looking forward to that day.

I saw my AIPP front cover picture yesterday after the photo shoot with Peter. I can’t believe how thick it is! I will be receiving my own copy sometime soon hopefully.

Peter and I shot for a few hours yesterday and got some really nice snaps. I will put those up over the next few weeks. I managed to get a copy of one of the older photographs taken for the same series. We scrapped the rest because we thought we could redo it and get better photographs. Peter also spoke to me about shooting a motion picture. I won’t go into detail about it because I think it would be best kept secretive until we realise it. It’s definitely something that will be outside of the box.

As I Age

I watched Bob Dylan perform the other night. He looked tired and lonely and sounded the same. I heard that people close to him died early. Imagine that and then being left to tell their story. It made me wonder where I will be as I get older. I have trouble picturing myself aging. I don’t know if I like the idea of aging either. Some people seem to have their mind wear out, as if they just give up and let the world beat them.

Peter rang me the other day to tell me that my picture had been used for the front cover of one of the biggest photography books, AIPP (Australian Institute of Professional Photography). I hear they sell for five-hundred dollars. It’s funny how I can’t afford it myself. I’m thinking of selling a few of my paintings again to help my situation.

Where Am I?
